How to Reinstall Printer Driver – Follow The Steps

Step 1

Tap on “Start” on the left of your screen from the desktop. Ensure all programs are closed.

Click right on the computer and just select “properties”.If you are using Windows XP, then just go to step 3.

Those who are using Windows XP, tap on the “Hardware” tab in the properties. At the top of the window, you will see a button that shows “Device Manager”. Simply click the button. And go to step 5 and follow the instruction.

For Vista users, Just click “Device Manager” in the upper left of the sidebar in the system information Window. You will get a notification from Vista to continue or Cancel. Tap “Continue”.

Click right on any of your printer drivers. And then select “properties” from the menu.

Choose the “Driver” tab which is present at the top of the Properties Window. Near the bottom of the Window, you will get to see an “Uninstall” button simply tap it. Click “Ok” to the prompted box to continue the process. This means your driver is uninstalled. Go back to the Device Manager Window.

Step 7

Click right on your printer instance from the device manager Window. Now, you will notice that it has a yellow triangle in with an exclamation point. All you need to do is select “Update Driver” from the given pop-up menu for printer driver update.

Step 8

When prompted by the hardware update wizard, just select “Yes, this time only”  to update the driver. For this, you will need an internet connection. Tap “next”. Choose “Install the software automatically” and tap “Next’. This will automatically start searching for the most current driver for your printer. Now, you have to install it on your computer. The yellow triangle will go away if it installs successfully and you can repeat these steps for any other instances necessary. If not, then continue to step 10.

Step 9

With your usual search engine search for your printer model online. Ensure you must include the word “driver.”Find a site and download for the most updated driver for your printer. Save it on your desktop.

Step 10

Double-click the driver icon on your desktop and close everything. You can simply hit “Enter” through the prompts to install. You do not have to change the installation defaults. Your new driver is in place once the installation has finished.
